Welcome to Pocket Guides

Pocket Guides brings places to go, local services and everyday essentials together in a guide for each town. It is designed for people who live locally as well as visitors who want to make the most of their time there.

Start by choosing a town on our website. Our Settle and Skipton web guides let you browse local listings without creating an account. Explore places to eat and drink, somewhere to stay, independent shops, local services and things to do. When events are listed, you can also look at what is happening in the area.

A useful starting point is the thing you need today: somewhere for lunch, a local service or an idea for a day out. Use the directory to narrow your search, then open a listing for its available details. If you are planning a visit, check arrangements directly with the business before travelling.

Pocket Guides: Settle is also available on iOS and Android. It offers another way to find nearby places and save ideas for later. Settle and Skipton are both available to explore on the website; the app download links currently lead to the Settle app.

If you run a local business, you can claim an existing listing or submit a new one for your town. A basic listing is free. Business owners have their own signed-in section to manage their information, and new listings and changes are reviewed before publication.

These guides are a starting point for discovering a place, whether it is somewhere new or somewhere you already know. Choose Settle or Skipton on the website and see what is close by.
